East River Plaza

RCDolner provided construction management services for this project located in Manhattan on a 6-acre site between 116th Street and 119th Street adjacent to FDR Drive. The project incorporated the demolition of the existing Washburn Wire Manufacturing Factory, the new construction of a 500,000 square foot multi-level/multi-tenant “big box” retail facility, and the new construction of 1,250 car parking garage.

Based upon a 150,000 square foot floor plate, the retail area was constructed on piles with a structural steel superstructure incorporating a façade that consisted of precast panels and curtain wall. As part of the structure and foundation work, sixteen mega columns were constructed to accommodate two future 400,000 sf towers. The eight level 660,000 square foot parking structure was constructed entirely out of precast concrete including the two - 75 foot diameter helix access ramps.

The retail tenants include Costco, Target, Best Buy, Marshall’s, PetSmart and Old Navy.
