7 Metrotech Center

This early 20th century building designed by Ralph Walker is 27 stories and 3 sublevels 45 feet below ground level. The total space is approximately 500,000 square feet. This includes 243 residential units, 15 professional spaces, 12,000 square feet of amenity space and 115 car parking garage.

The brick facade will be restored. The existing roof will be removed and replaced. The roof will contain mechanical and building services. The 19th floor outside space will be dedicated to a public roof terrace that will be accessible to all occupants of the building and their guests. The entra nce lobby for the residential portion of the building will be on Bridge Street in the middle of the building.

The lobby area will include facilities for the concierge service. There is a lobby and waiting area and business center. The ground floor will have commercial space and entrance to the garage. The Public areas will have terrazzo floors with carpet runners. Appliances in the residential units include a washer and dryer. There is no central laudry facility. Each unit will have custom millwork doors and cabinets.

In the sublevel there are a number of amenity facilities including exercise room, aerobics and yoga room, lounge, media room, toddler's play room and Men's and Women's rest rooms. The floors 2 through 27 will be constructed and configured for residential occupancy. The luxury units have hard wood or wood bamboo floors. The baths have tile floors.

The floors 2 through 16 will contain a professional space. The residential units will be equipped with smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. This conversion of the former Verizon Building will provide this area of Brooklyn with a restored landmark.
