Hilton & Towers New York

Although most hotels close for extensive renovations, the Hilton's flagship hotel, the Hilton New York & Towers, at 1335 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, continued to accommodate its annual check-in of 1.2 million overnight guests and 3.5 million conference attendees with virtually no disturbance. To accomplish the Master Plan project, RCDolner worked closely with the Hilton team to develop a comprehensive strategy.

In an effort to minimize disruption, the lobby was completed in two phases. First, it was divided down the middle and work was unobtrusively completed on the south side. The guest traffic pattern was switched to the newly finished half overnight and work began on the north half.

When the work was completed and the partition removed, an elegant lobby emerged featuring a rotunda check-in area with an intricate inlaid marble floor, pre-cut and shipped from Italy and custom wood check in desk, concierge and bell captainsí stations.

In addition to the dramatic new lobby, work included a new sleek metal and stone facade, two new restaurants and two lounges, a spa and additional meetings facilities.
