David H. Koch Theater Holds Opening Night Ceremony
RCDolner's successful renovation of the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center was completed in the Fall of 2009. The David H. Koch Theater (formerly the New York State Theater) originally opened in 1964 and was designed by architect Phillip Johnson. By 2008 the theater-home to the New York City Ballet and the New York City Opera was in need of extensive renovation. RCDolner began this renovation, which included extensive upgrades to the infrastructure, lighting, and mechanical systems, in the Spring of 2008.
New installations included a state-of-the-art orchestra lift, fire curtain, and stage rigging system. With the replacements to the theater seating, theater flooring, wall covering, carpeting, and restrooms, the theater's appearance received a long overdue new look. Working closely with its end user clients, RCDolner ensured a successful project maximizing the satisfaction for both the performers and audience alike.
