Student Focus: Greater New York's Team 20 Takes Miami!

Miami, Florida September 13, 2010. Students from Team 20 of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York, led by RCDolner Construction LLC, will give a special project presentation to the Miami County Commission's Recreation, Tourism and Culture Committee on Monday, September 13, 2010.

The students' project is the culmination of eight months of hard work consisting of planning and designing a performing arts facility the students refer to as Lincoln Center Performing Arts Academy.

The students came up with the idea for this project as part of the requirements for the ACE Mentor Program in which the students design and present a mock project just as a real life project design team would. In addition to gaining the experience of what it is like to be part of a design team, the students learn new skills and receive industry overviews from their mentors who are professionals from leading design and construction firms.

The students invited to give the presentation in Miami include students from three New York City high schools and two high school graduates now in their first year of college:

Mentors, James Barry, Vice President, and Wendy Koshner, Director of Marketing, from RCDolner Construction LLC along with Nancy Rankin from John G. Waite Associates, Architects PLLC will accompany the five students to Miami on Sunday, September 12th. The trip will include a Miami Design Preservation tour and a visit to the project site location.
